Welcome to the New Literacies Teacher Leader Institute 2010!

The New Literacies Teacher Leader Institute is a collaborative with the MA Department of Elementary & Secondary Education,project with the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary, the New Literacies Research Lab at the University of Connecticut, and the New Literacies Collabortive at the Friday Institute, which is part of NC State University's College of Education . The Institute will help Massachusetts teachers prepare students for the online literacy skills required for the 21st century. The Institute will be held at the Microsoft Center in Cambridge, Massachusetts from June 20 – 25, 2010. The week long institute will focus on how new digital tools can create challenging and engaging learning opportunities for students and teachers. Approximately 130 teachers, and 10 Teacher Leaders, from across Massachusetts will come together to learn from leaders in the field of new literacies and engage in project-based inquiry to create curriculum units based on the MA Curriculum Frameworks .
